The Road (Oprah's Book Club)

When Oprah places a book into her recommended Book Club, there is no where else to go, but to listen and read.

She has many expert reviews with writers and artists available to make judgment calls - and this may just why her system works so well.

Not quite Famous - But who knows... ;-)

Best book read in years

It's been about 12 years since i've read a book in one sitting.

This book moved me close to tears something no novel has accomplished since "Siddartha" which i read in my teens. Also as a father, I was truly able to connect with "the man", a main character in the book.

If anything in this world gives us purpose it's our children.

For fathers

If you're a father and love your son, you will love this book.

A father's love- others have tried to pen it; McCarthy succeeds. Like with any masterpiece of Art, one can analyze and analyze but in the end can't explain why it works.

The Road does.

It goes on forever - but the party ends...

This was my first McCarthy and I was blown away by the quality of the writing, the depth of the story, and the meaning behind it all.

This is a dreary depressing novel that stayed with me days after I read the last line. I now have to read more from this author but will have to wait awhile, I'll have to be ready before I take another bite of McCarthy.
